The Citronic AC-1USB is essentially an audio capture device, allowing the conversion of analogue audio, such as vinyl or tapes, to be converted to high quality digital sound files, thus enabling it to be used in the digital world of ipods,MP3 players and computer software.

Simplicity is the key, everything about it has been designed to make it as easy as possible to connect and start recording, The AC-1USB Adaptor is high quality USB soundcard with built in phono pre amp housed in a smart plastic housing, making it lightweight robust and compact.

It has stereo RCA inputs and outputs, a phono/line selector switch, a ground connection for use with turntables and a 1.5m cable with a USB 'A' male connector. Included with the package is ''Audacity'' software, one of the most easy to use recording programs which allows you to record & edit to warious digital formats such as.WAV, or MP3. The AC-1USB Adaptor can also be used with other sound recording software. Connection of the AC-1USB Adaptor is simple once you have loaded the Audacity software, connect your source device, such as a turntable to the AC-1USB, select the correct input phono, if a turntable is connected and line for anything else.

Next Connect the USB connector to your computer. The AC-1USB Adaptor will work straight away with the USB audio device drivers built in to windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP or Mac OS. Open up the Audacity software, go to Preferecnces and set the playback and recording device from the drop down menu to USB Audio Codec. Choose channels (2 stereo) and tick software playthrough box. you're done, Forcsimple recording press play on the source device and record in the software, once done save the file. There are more advanced options once you get used to it, but to get you going its that simple.

The AC-1USB is not just to record your vinyl, it has other uses to record digitally. if you are a live band you can connect it to the record output of the main mixer and record your set. If you are a DJ you can record your set, Speech, Jingles what ever you like through your exsiting mixer straight to digital.
